Hornsea is making good progress towards becoming a Fairtrade Town with the Town Council passing a resolution to support Fairtrade in April.
The Project was officially launched in July and since then the steering group has worked on raising the awareness of people to fairtrade by holding various events and through publicity.
The steering group has recently started a survey of businesses and work places to gauge the interest in and support required for them to stock/use fairly traded products.
The results so far are very encouraging with
17% already using Fairtrade
42% very keen or perusing selling Fairtrade
21% requesting more information
8% not sure
12% not interested
